The Love Practice

My Take

Few words carry more weight than love.

Yet few words are used more freely.

bell hooks asks us to consider the distance between saying we love someone and living in a way that reflects it.

She asks us to see love as a practice — something measured not by what we feel, but by how we choose to act.

Love is easy to claim.

Harder to prove.

And can become stronger when it becomes something we practice.

A Parting Thought

“Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the Earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that — it lights the whole sky.”  — Hafiz
